The AIA Board approved an upgrade for the North Gate
Entry system in 2006. At that time a new controlling system (motor,
actuator arms, sensors, etc) was installed, but the existing metal
gates remained.Over the years the gates have been repainted but showed
the effects of having been run into by vehicals more than once:
several uprights were bent and the hinges were stressed.
An Arbors resident offered to have new gates built at no cost to the
Arbors, and in early Jan 2018 the board approved to have the newly
constructed metal gates powder coated and installed.
Included in this upgrade was also an improvement to the gate sprockets
which resulted decreased opening times: from 11-15 seconds to
8-9 seconds.
